Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research Hospital telecasts Live Cardiac Procedures to Newzealand
Asia Pacific Cardiac and Structural Heart Disease Symposium, 2017 Conference was held at Auckland, Newzealand on Saturday, 3rd June 2017. Four Live Cardiac Procedures were conducted at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research and Live telecasted to this meeting.
Dr.C.N.Manjunath, Director, Dr.K.H.Srinivas, Dr.Anand P Subramanian and Dr.B.C.Srinivas successfully conducted the Cardiac Procedures on Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty and Device Closure of Congenital Heart Defects (Heart Hole). Two patients were suffering from Rheumatic Heart Disease and a narrowed mitral valve called Mitral Stenosis and one of this patient had previously undergone Mitral Valvulotomy and presented with renarrowing. Elsewhere these patients were advised Mitral Valve Replacement which is a Open Heart Surgery. The Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty is conducted on these 2 patients with excellent results which was
witnessed and appreciated by the Cardiologists at Newzealand Conference.
Other Two Cases were children, 7 years and 9 years respectively, diagnosed to have Congenital Heart Disease in the form of Heart Holes. They were suffering from recurrent chest infection, fever and growth retardation. For both these children, the heart holes were closed by Non-Surgical Method using Umbrella Devices. The advantages of closing the heart holes by using Umbrella Devices is “No need for Open Heart Surgery / Blood Transfusion and No scar on the Chest wall which is a boon to patients particularly to females”.
The International delegates and Cardiologists at Auckland actively interacted with the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research Team and expressed appreciation for the expertise and the ease with which these procedures were conducted by Jayadeva faculty.
